Project Description
Big media events can be seen as triggers for remembering personal events. MY BIG DAY is a web service that allows users to attach personal stories – in the form of text, photos, videos, sounds – to important events / dates in British history that are documented on bbc.co.uk. A ranking system will define the relevant importance of these files, identifying the most significant events in the Nation’s collective history. This user-enhanced archive will provide a more rounded view on big events, creating a shared consciousness that allows individuals to mirror/place themselves within a wider historical framework.
