Poke / Amberlight
Project Description
To create rich and relevant community tagging we think it will be necessary to separate and align groups by taste. If a piece of content is tagged ‘funny’ then how do I know the tagger means funny in the way I mean it? If however I am grouped with like-minded / like-tasted people then their tagging will be more relevant and more readable, ultimately leading me to a more satisfactory choice quicker.
Our project is to find the shortest route to segmenting the community. We will be start by finding the divisive questions that will naturally group users on a single subjective term (e.g. funny) and then test tag quality on respective group members to see if there is a substantial increase in search quality. The project will also address the implications this will have for the underlying tagging systems that will possibly require tag relationships to be measured.
