StarDotStar
Project Description
Maybe when you were young you tried to get on a Radio 1 Roadshow’s Bits and Pieces… maybe now you’re older you’ve tried to make it on Radio 4’s Brain of Britain… (ok, so maybe you haven’t). But let’s face it, Dave Lee Travis’s Treble Top Inter-Pub darts quiz was about as massively multi-player as it ever got..Until now that is…During our BBC Innovation Lab we plan to explore the medium of massively multi-player radio shows: no longer will radio interaction be lamented to shouting ‘it’s Echo and the Bunnymen you moron!’; no longer will you have to hold in the queue in the vein hope of hearing your favourite plucky DJ sing the words ‘line 42, you’re on the air!’ ; no longer will we the listeners have to listen to Darren from Davenport shout ’...and I’d just like to say hi to all me mates in Spudulike…’ With MMP-Radio we aim to bring power to the people with interaction that doesn’t involve a red button.
