BBC Passport

Nick Toye

This is just a flat graphic at the moment. If the feedback is not good then I won't waste time building it.

The thought behind is that it is a supplement to the main bbc site, and it basically tracks where you are in the world and will feed information based on your location. Of course it will have general news headlines that are not centred around the location, but things in the right sidebar for instance and the main graphic will be as locally centred as possible.

To make it as "web2" as possible, I have included apps that you would use elsewhere but will have access to it through a personalised portal. You can read email, upload images to a flickr account, record a podcast with Odea, search using the A9 engine.

I quite like that design. I especially like the colour scheme.

I really like the design - It is clean and slick! I prefer the standard colours, but each to their own! diversity is good...

I would love to see it built

A really nice overall design!

My only problem is the 'Passport' identity, sounds too much like MSN's .Net Passport, other than that I really like it, especially the colours.

Thanks for the comments. My goal is for user interface, I would get a programmer to build it.

I'm kind of stuck on the Passport term as it seemed appropriate for the function.

I really like the idea of the BBC site being able to track you down and localise the content for you - but what happens if that isn't what you are visiting the BBC for?

What if you don't live in the UK anymore, but are going to bbc.co.uk to get a bit of info about "the old country"?
