My BBC
I came up with a personalised BBC homepage that will provide users with a starting place for their journey through BBC's content and beyond. Through my designlayout, 35% of the content is for the user to customise and the remaining 65% of the content isselected/delivered by the BBC. So, the user can really use this 35% for his/her uses and store the favourite information or news.
Log-in:
Once the user logs into this web site the user will immediately notice how many e-mails (from alerts news/mobile), comments (from blog) etc. And will list some of the favourite things that the user likes in the "My BBC" section. It is a personal information section. In the header, the recognisable logo is accompanied by, main links, accessibility link, text and languages.
The search engine:
It can look for everything or specific media (video, audio, images etc..). "Fancy BBC" has few options to choose such as Music, film, Art, etc.
The Weather:
There are two weather reports in this section :
Bournemouth Today means the user is accessed in Bournemouth ( so, it can track where the user is). And My Hometown Today means the place is where the user original come from.
My Interactive Box:
In this section, it displays the latest news that the user likes to know such as video, audio, etc . In addition, the user can add or remove the video, audio or etc. He/she also can send it to friends or send it to his/her weblog.
My alerts:
Two kind of alerts can be added in this section:
Desktop and Mobile.
BBC says:
This section is mainly a reminder or alert service. For example any breaking news will be displayed in this section. Also this section will play a role as a reminder to the user. For example as a reminder of RSIguard (Repetitive Strain Injury) which to prevent BBC readers from inflicting injury by providing reminder to take a break.
The Footer:
A catalogue is provided at the bottom of the page to give direct access to various parts of the BBC network.
